So much has happened since we were privileged to visit Rafiki 11 years ago-- true to their vision, the trustees and partnering organizations and churches have continued to develop the center, adding a fish pond, opening a boys' dorm, a technical school, a primary school, a music program and most recently a bakery. It's almost impossible to keep up with all the changes going on at the center, so you can read about it here.
In May of 2010, we were invited to go to Kenya as part of a team ministry. We taught music at KIST (Kima International School of Theology) and visited an orphanage, taking instruments and sound equipment bought with donations from friends. This trip was life-changing. Read about our trip in the Kenyan Journal.
While teaching at Kima International School of Theology, we met Caleb student Osore Esilaba. Since then he has graduated with his Master's in Theology from St Paul's University and has started a non-profit organization benefitting needy children in his home village.
